Fall is FINALLY here! That means sweater weather, seasonal foods, and sublime wine pairings.
If you’re like us, you’re a sucker for all things autumn. From crunchy leaves and crisp, cool mornings to pumpkin spice everything and soup season! There’s just something so magical about the transition from summer to fall. So what better way to celebrate than with fall seasonal wine pairings!
Obviously, we’ll include classic wine pairings that never seem to go out of style. However, we’re also mixing it up with newer trending flavor combinations. Whether you’re prepping for a festive fall gathering or just looking for pairings to spice up a weekday dinner, we’ve got something for everyone.
Pumpkin Spice Wine Spritzer
We’ve taken inspiration from the iconic pumpkin spice latte and created something with a bit more oomph. Obviously, the oomph comes from our spectacular Chardonnay and a generous splash of pumpkin liquor. Plus, you can make individual glasses or even a large pitcher depending on how many people you’re serving.
For three cocktails, mix together 12 ounces of Chardonnay, 3 ounces of pumpkin spice liquor, top with seltzer, and then garnish with a cinnamon stick. That’s it!
A buttery Chardonnay really complements the warm pumpkin spice, creating something that’s refreshing, not too sweet, and bursting with fall flavors. If you make this for a party, be prepared to receive requests for this cocktail at every holiday party.

Pair a Fall-Inspired Charcuterie Board with a Versatile Wine
One of the best parts about this time of year has to be all the fruits and vegetables that are FINALLY in season. We’re talking about things like apples, pears, squash, artichokes, figs, and so much more. That’s why we think a fall-inspired charcuterie board is the perfect way to celebrate all this amazing produce.
The tricky part is finding a wine that’s versatile enough to pair well with a variety of produce, meats, and cheeses. We’ve opted for our Pinot Grigio – Terre Siciliane. It already includes notes of apple and pear, and the addition of light citrus notes will elevate so many of the items you might include on your charcuterie board.
For example, we LOVE a crisp slice of pear wrapped in prosciutto and topped with a bit of blue cheese. It’s sweet, crisp, and still perfectly savory. We also really enjoy the combination of figs, plain goat cheese, and a bit of honey. Honestly, just select your favorite fall produce, add your preferred meats and cheeses, and you really can’t go wrong.
Pair Wild Game or Venison with Big Bold Reds
Whether you’re a hunter yourself or just have a very well-stocked butcher, fall is also the perfect time to cook with wild game like venison, pheasants, or even duck. These meats tend to have a strong, gamey flavor that’s much earthier than farm-raised animals. That means you’ll want a wine that’s equally bold.
The complexity of our PALO61, Toscano Rosso would be the perfect addition to venison stews or roasted duck. The spicy notes of black pepper combined with the sweetness of dark cherries lifts the flavor of any wild game and creates a flavor combination that you’ll want to taste all year long.
A Light Pinot Noir Adds Complexity to Sweet Potato Dishes
Sweet potatoes are surprisingly versatile. They can be used in savory dishes like mashed sweet potatoes or they can be dessert-like as in a sweet potato pie. Whatever the case, we recommend pairing it with a light pinot noir to round out the sweet potato flavor.
While pinot noir may seem intense and mysterious, this light to medium-bodied dry red wine is surprisingly fruit-forward. They often have a tantalizing blend of herbs, spice, and then more tart fruits like cherries or currents. Our Pinot Noir – Terre Siciliane is a medium-bodied red with raspberry and dark cherries notes and a velvet finish.
The mouthfeel of this wine is particularly enjoyable when paired with sweet potato dishes. We recommend a savory sweet potato dish that incorporates other savory elements like a Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie.
Pair Butternut Squash Soup with Herbal and Floral Notes
You didn’t think we would talk about soup season without actually mentioning a soup, did you? Of course not! And one of our all-time favorite soups has to be a warm, savory butternut squash soup.
Maybe you’re a purist who wants to stick to simple recipes using just roasted butternut squash, a splash of cream, and then salt and pepper. Perhaps you want to create something more adventurous that uses a combination of herbs and spices, loads of garlic, or even a splash of apple-cider vinegar to brighten it up. Whatever the case, our Vermentino is the perfect wine pairing.
This particular wine has beautiful hints of peaches, sage, rosemary, and flowers. Honestly, we could go on and on about how phenomenal this bottle pairs with butternut squash, but you’ve really just got to try it for yourself. You’ll thank us.
