Low-Carb Fall Wine Cocktails | 2021

Autumn is a time for warm scarves, toasty fireplaces, and seasonal drinks! Read on for five low-carb wine cocktails inspired by the flavors of fall.

There’s a reason we’re all a little obsessed with this time of year. Something about brisk mornings and crunchy leaves makes us want to put on our coziest socks, enjoy a crackling fire, and sip on beverages infused with fall flavors. Too often, that means lots of sugar and unnecessary carbs—well, not this time! Low-carb drinks are on the menu!

We’re giving you five of our favorite autumn-inspired cocktails. Yum! They’re perfect for satisfying fall flavor cravings without sacrificing nutrition goals. Whether you’re crushing that keto lifestyle, watching your sugar intake, or simply trying to live a little healthier, you deserve a celebratory cocktail just as much as anyone else.

Just remember that drinking alcohol or wine on the keto diet requires moderation. We won’t judge if you indulge a bit though, lol. Just mix, pour, sip, and enjoy!

Pumpkin-Spiced Sangria with Low-Carb Pinot Grigio

Ok, so maybe this drink recipe involves just a BIT more than mixing, pouring, and sipping. But can you blame us? By the time you’re done, you’ll have a tapped pumpkin, mouthwatering sangria, and your fall gatherings will be the talk of the town! Yeah, that’s right. You’ll be serving this drink straight from the pumpkin.

You can usually grab a spout kit from larger grocery stores. If not, this one will do the trick. Just make sure you scrape the inside of the pumpkin REALLY well, wash it out and pat dry, follow the instructions for inserting your specific tap, and then place it on a cake stand to make serving easier. If you plan on serving a large group of people, you may want to get a larger pumpkin. Just FYI 😉

After you’ve picked out the perfect pumpkin, make sure you grab the rest of the ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of low-carb Pinot Grigio
  • Half a cup of bourbon
  • 4 cups of low-sugar apple cider
  • 3 cups of seltzer water
  • 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Half a cup of lemon juice

You can simply mix all of these together and gently ladle them into the pumpkin, but we recommend heating the low-sugar apple cider over medium heat for a few minutes. Add in the spices and let them infuse into the apple cider, and THEN mix everything together and gently ladle it into the pumpkin.

If you want more of a citrus kick, you can grate some orange zest into the apple cider while it’s heating up too! We love a cinnamon stick garnish, but honestly, this drink is delicious no matter how you serve it.

Apple & Ginger Spritzer with Low-Carb Chardonnay | SECCO Wine Club

Apple & Ginger Spritzer with Low-Carb Chardonnay

If you’re a fan of apple picking, you’re going to LOVE this drink. It’s got the crisp, sweetness of ripe apples with the warming quality of ginger. Yes, please! This recipe makes roughly eight servings, so plan accordingly.

For this spritzer, you’re going to need:

  • One bottle of low-carb chardonnay
  • 12 ounces of Lillet (or a citrus liquor of your choice)
  • 12 ounces of low-sugar apple cider
  • 12 ounces of ginger beer
  • Fresh ginger root (sliced for garnish)
  • 1 apple (sliced for garnish)

You can use a cocktail jigger to measure ingredients for individual glasses (3oz of wine, 1.5oz of Lillet, 1.5 oz of low-sugar apple cider, and 1.5 ounces of ginger beer), or you can mix it all together and figure out portions later. We’re a fan of doing the least amount of work possible, so we usually choose the latter.

We recommend adding one or two ice cubes to each glass and then garnishing with a fresh slice of ginger and apple. So easy, so delicious!

Autumn Spiced Sangria with Low-Carb Pinot Noir

You didn’t think we’d give you a white wine sangria without also giving you our red wine sangria…did you? Never! We don’t discriminate against sangria in this club. Plus, if you’re throwing a party with both red and white wine lovers, you could tap a pumpkin for BOTH of these recipes!

You can make this sangria earlier in the day to give the ingredients time to infuse. However, if you’re running short on time, simply grab your muddler and roll up your sleeves. But first things first. For this cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • One bottle of low-carb Pinot Noir
  • 1 orange (cut into wedges)
  • 1 apple (cored and diced)
  • 1 lemon (cut into wedges)
  • Half a cup of brandy
  • Half a cup of orange juice
  • Orange zest twists (for garnish)

If it’s early enough, simply combine all your ingredients in a pitcher and let them infuse in the fridge for a few hours. If your guests are arriving any moment, however, then muddle your orange, apple, and lemon fruit for roughly 30 seconds. Add your brandy and orange juice, muddle again for 30 seconds, and then add the wine.  Give everything a good stir, pour into glasses, and garnish with orange zest.

Boom, you just crushed this holiday gathering. You can thank us later.

Low-Carb Mulled Wine with Warm Fall Spices

For a more intimate gathering, nothing beats a hot glass of mulled wine. While wine is traditionally served chilled or at room temperature, mulled wine is served warm with a blend of aromatic spices and fruits. So, get out your favorite punch bowl or maybe just your favorite cozy mug and get ready for your new favorite holiday beverage.

We’re such a huge fan of this recipe, however, that we’ve already talked about it in detail. So, if you want to fill your house with the sharp citrus scent of oranges and spicy notes of clove, check out the full recipe HERE for details.

Oh, and did we mention it uses three bottles of low-carb wine? Yeah, there’s a good reason we can’t get enough of this drink.

Low-Carb Mulled Wine with Warm Fall Spices | SECCO Wine Club

Red Wine Hot Chocolate with Low-Carb Merlot

Yes, spiced drinks are a staple of autumn. But hot chocolate is just too tempting once it starts getting cold out! Don’t you remember huddling over a hot cup of cocoa after playing in the snow all day? That’s what this recipe is all about! Comfort, warmth, and pure chocolaty goodness. It has all the nostalgia with a much-needed kick of red wine.

This cocktail is particularly rich though, so we recommend sticking with one serving. Trust us, one mug will be more than enough…okay MAYBE two mugs. Either way, this recipe makes four servings. So you can have an intimate gathering of four, or you and a special someone can indulge. For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Two-thirds cup of semisweet chocolate chips (you can substitute dark or bitter chocolate if you really want to cut the sugar down).
  • Two-thirds cup of low-carb Merlot
  • Half cup of milk
  • Half cup of half-and-half
  • A pinch of salt (it enhances the chocolate flavor)
  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Simply heat the chocolate chips, wine, milk, and half-and-half in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir your mixture constantly until the chocolate is melted and fully incorporated. After that, let it reach your desired temperature, remove from the heat, stir in vanilla extract, add a pinch of salt, and serve!

You’ll never want to drink hot chocolate any other way after this.

We’re Grateful for YOU This Holiday Season!

If you’re low on any of the bottles we recommended, don’t forget to stock up before the holiday gatherings start! You may want to double your order too. Because after serving these cocktails once, you’ll have people requesting them at every gathering afterward.
